In a rather surprising development, the Russian Black Sea Fleet has complied with the Ukrainian request for advance notice of entry to Sevastopol. The Russians blinked first, but not because they are afraid of the Ukriane or any Ukriainian threats.
The Russian Black Sea Fleet Command has chosen to do an about face from yesterday's angry outburst by Russian President Medvedev excoriating the Ukraine in regard to the Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko's demads of 72 hour notification prior to entering the port in Sevastopol, Ukraine.
The very angry Russian President Medvedev had declared
- "Ukraine has no right to indicate Russia how to use the Black Sea fleet, based in Crimea Black Sea Fleet will be in the zone of our special, special attention.
And let us not indicate how to behave "
Bluster and huffing, Putins lapdog Medvedev had lots of Commie spew to put out for the Russian masses on Monday, but the Russian image is a bit tarnished these days in the land of the Euro.
In a remarkably short time, on Tuesday, The Black Sea Fleet Command notified the Defense Ministry of Ukraine of the imminent return of a Missile Cruiser (flagship), a patrol boat, a small missile ship and a minesweeper.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev made a statement regarding the move by Russia, suggesting the notice was given not to mollify the Ukraine, but instead was meant to remove some of the tarnish on Russia's image in Europe.
In decades gone by, the result would have been different, Russia might have waited a week or two before blasting a hole through any resistance to enter the port city where their Black Sea Fleet hangs out.
These days, awash with Euro funding from their oil reserves, Russia has taken a more diplomatic tack. This is actually the more threatening of the two styles, as I see it.
This almost lends credence to the civility of the Russian Commie's. Which civility is in reality non-existant.
For the Free World, we now face two threats, on one hand the continuing threat from the Commie expansion, and the same (but much older) threat of Islamic expansion.
Where's
Joe McCarthy when he's really needed? A purge of all the Commies and Commie sympathizers in our government would go a long way toward stablizing the US response to both of these threats. Club Gitmo might need a new wing added on if the commies were stripped of citizenship and moved to a more tropical region to rethink their pinhead ignorance. At the very least, having all the commie out of the way would make the job of confronting Islamic terorism in the USA easier.
