Costa Ricans are smarter than the US Kongress.
100,000 Costa Ricans demonstrated against the CAFTA legislation.
Makes me wonder what would have happened here if we had been able to get even a hundred people to demonstrate against it in D.C.
Or one thousand, they would have likely wound up sitting on the Group W bench (re: the old Arlo Guthrie song) but at least we mioght have had a chance to shoot down legislation from El Presidente Jorge Bushez which is pushing this country closer to a Globalized Non-Autonomous existence.

I'd vote for a civil war before I bow a knee to the unification of the continent. Despite my age I'd also prefer to go down fighting to maintain the Autonomy of this nation, instead of allowing a bunch of pi**ant Socialist Republicans hand it over to the UN.
Those who agree should say so.
